We are pleased to invite you to the consensus conference, which will take place on 2 June 2023, at the Higher Regional Court in Cologne. Organised in the framework of the Find an Expert II project. The main focus of the day will be the public debate in the form of a question-and-answer session, European exchange of views between all participants, the co-chair and the members of the jury after the presentation of results of the work of the working groups.

This Consensus Conference aims to select and to formulate common recommendations on the following topics related to judicial expertise: Define the criteria that allow to qualify a person as judicial expert.
Define common standards to be met by the bodies that manage experts’ lists,
Define the procedure of registration and re-registration of judicial expert on a list.
Find ways of convergence between the nomenclatures of experts' specialities or areas of expertise of the Member States, and define a process that includes a regular updating of a common nomenclature at EU level.
Propose processes to support the interconnection of national registers and to establish a European search engine for judicial experts. Proposals to ensure the sustainability of the project will also be treated.
Your participation is essential, because on that day the Jury will collect all the information provided by the participants of the Conference. During the presentaions and debates, the members of the Jury will note the points of agreement and disagreement, as well as any other particular elements such as the main gaps that could give rise to research topics.
